چکیده
Abstract The article covers experimental research on the forming of products made 7075 aluminum alloy. This alloy grade is characterized by high strength, but due to its low formability in T6 temper, use stamping processes complex structural elements limited. authors have manufactured a U-shaped element at an elevated temperature and determined optimal parameters process. Conventional heating sheet shaping it 100 150 °C allowed obtain product strength similar state, above 540 MPa. Due excessive springback during forming, these were large deviation shape geometry, exceeding allowable values + / − 1 mm. Only alternative method temperatures 200 240 (between plates 350 °C, time 2 min, rate 1.8 °C/s) that meets both geometric requirements. process’ later transferred process more (lower part B-pillar). was heated up formed previously pre-heated tools. In subsequent series tests, blank’s being analyzed. case foot B-pillar, necessary lower initial blank (heating furnace with 340 speed 0.5 °C/s). appropriate combination resulted satisfactory reaching product’s comparable material as-delivered temper. Using electron microscopy, verified structure finished contained particles MgZn strongly strengthen obtained results complement data possibility using produce energy-absorbing motor vehicles.

The Effects of Forming Parameters on the Single Point Incremental Forming of 1050 Aluminum Alloy Sheet
The single point incremental forming (SPIF) is one of the dieless forming processes which is widely used in the sheet metal forming. The correct selection of the SPIF parameters influences the formability and quality of the product. In the present study, the Gurson-Tvergaard Needleman (GTN) damage model was used for the fracture prediction in the numerical simulation of the SPIF process of alum...
متن کاملSurface Characterizations of Fretting Fatigue Damage in Aluminum Alloy 7075-T6 Clamped Joints: The Beneficial Role of Ni–P Coatings
This paper aims to characterize the surface damage as a consequence of fretting fatigue in aluminum alloy 7075-T6 plates in double-lap bolted joints through XRD, surface profilometry, and SEM analyses. The main focus was on the surface roughness and chemical phase composition of the damaged zone along with the identification of fretting fatigue crack initiations over the surface of the material...
متن کاملPrediction of Instability in Planar Anisotropic Sheet Metal Forming Processes
In this paper instability of planar anisotropic sheet metal during a few forming processes is investigated for the first time. For this reason components of the constitutive tangent tensor for planar anisotropic sheets are developed. By using the above tensor location of necking is predicted. Direction of the shear band is also predicted using the acoustic tensor. A finite element program is pr...
متن کاملApplication of the GTN Model in Ductile Fracture Prediction of 7075-T651 Aluminum Alloy
In this paper the capability of Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) model in the prediction of ductile damage in 7075-T651 aluminum alloy is investigated. For this purpose, three types of specimens were tested: Standard tensile bars, Round notched bar (RNB) specimens and compact tension (C(T)) specimens. Standard tensile bar tests were used to obtain the mechanical properties of the material and t...
متن کاملA Study on the Forming of Sheet Metal Parts Using Multi-Point Forming Technology
In recent years, in order to reducing die design and manufacturing costs, Multi point forming technique has gained an increasing interest because of its high flexibility. In this process, the conventional fixed shape solid die sets are replaced with a pair of opposite matrices of controllable elements. In this paper, the fundamental principles of multi-point forming was described and the possib...
